Born in Alabama, I moved around the Southeast with a construction family and continued on the construction trail 19 years until landing in Elbert Co. Ga.in 1982.

In 1984 I had the opportunity to begin a friendship with a man who was making handmade knives { David Winston }. I watched his every move, started acquiring equipment and by 1985 had my own small shop. Thus began WILSON CUSTOM KNIVES.

I continued my construction job until February of 1992, by this time the demands of my knife trade resulted in my becoming a full-time maker.

In the year 2000, I moved to Hayesville NC where I set up my fully functioning one man knife shop. GOING STRONG TODAY!
